The project called for a modern kitchen, open plan living and the introduction of more light into the living space.  

 

Some historic exterior patch-work ‘features’ were removed and a simple modern insertion fitted into the existing house at ground floor level. The new section with its large openings, open plan living and greater indoor-outdoor flow contrasts greatly with but also preserves the character of the original 1920's design.
