Located on a water-front site around Lower Hutt’s Days Bay, the client's brief was a contemporary, modestly sized house which would sit into its  surroundings whilst maximising the view of a near-by wharf.

 

The design placed all primary living on a single level, splitting the house into two distinct pavilions connected via a central ‘link’. By splitting the house into two distinct elements, and carefully considering placement, it allowed for maximum frontage to Days Bay without the need of extending above its surroundings.
